Ubisoft Montpellier released a new update for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown with bug fixes for all versions of the action-adventure game.

Ubisoft has released a new update for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to fix several in-game bugs and issues across all versions of the game. Despite the game’s critical acclaim, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has a lot of room for improvement due to several lingering issues that can greatly affect the player’s experience.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first new entry in the long-running franchise for consoles and PC in over a decade. The latest Prince of Persia game launched on January 18th to great acclaim from critics and fans alike. In fact, the game sits at an impressive MetaScore of 86, with an equally impressive 90 User Score. However, rumors suggest that sales of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown may underperform Ubisoft’s expectations. In addition, various technical issues affected a few players after the game’s launch, prompting the development team to release multiple patches.

The official Discord server for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown confirms that update 1.0.4 is now available on all platforms, with the Nintendo Switch version receiving the same round of bug fixes in update 1.0.5. As reported by Mp1st, the update addresses several bugs that previously affected the game’s user interface, overall gameplay, and some queries. First, the reward notification for Young Sargon and Digital Art Books unlocks has been fixed, so players shouldn’t have any issues when using the in-game overlay for Ubisoft Connect on PC. Additionally, the in-game cursor and health bar will no longer get stuck on the screen if the player tries to focus on a memory shard or upgrade a blessing amulet.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Update 1.0.4 File Sizes

  • PlayStation 5: 1.49 GB
  • PlayStation 4: 3.36 GB
  • Xbox One: 2.2 GB

A number of gameplay fixes ensure that the player character, Sargon, will not get stuck in a part of the mount or crash in an area after a soft reset. For example, Sargon can become invulnerable and invisible after using Shadow of the Smerg while the Dragon King Amulet’s effects are active. Moving forward, players should have no problem with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crowns Moon Gatherer, Treasure of the Seven Seas, and the Lost Warriors quest.

The latest update is a must for players who want to fully complete Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and unlock all trophies/achievements. More updates are likely to come, as Ubisoft Montpellier is still investigating issues known from player reports. Patch Notes for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Update 1.0.4

MAP & USER INTERFACE

Addressed:

  • Reward notifications for ‘Young Sargon’ are overlapped in-game for unlocking digital artbooks in the same session via the Ubisoft Connect overlay.
  • Placing a marker on the map while focusing on a memory shard locks the in-game cursor.
  • Having the Blessing Amulet upgrade equipped and not full life causes the health bar to become visually stuck.
  • During the first fight with Vahram, the camera can be offset after Vahram’s final move.

GAMEPLAY

Addressed:

  • In The Depths the trapdoor above the wak-wak tree remains closed, the lever stuck in the pulled position after a soft reset.
  • The player can take damage by using the dodge granted by the Elusive Water amulet when adding input during their animation.
  • The player cannot unlock the mystery chest located in the Lower City after shooting the arrow at the correct location.
  • Sargon loses the ‘frozen’ status effect when hanging on a wall when the effect starts.
  • Sargon is invulnerable and invisible if the player uses Shadow of the Smerg only when the effect of the Dragon King Amulet begins.
  • The player can exploit the aerial UP and DOWN attack combo + Rush of the Simurgh to break through the third warp cell and enter the Pit of Eternal Sand.
  • Kiana and Sargon spawn outside of the rendered world if the player dies and retry the fight before Kiana transitions to camouflage attacks.
  • Defeating Manolias or Orod while they are on fire breaks the instant-time event, leaving players to restart the game and fight.
  • In some cases, King Darius and Sargon are immune to melee attacks when the player uses Time of Time on King Darius during his ‘Holy Flames’ attack.
  • A soft reset can reset his phase counter when fighting the final boss, requiring the player to beat phase 4 four times.

QUESTS

Addressed:

  • Moon Gatherer – Players previously stuck on this side quest are now able to return to their original starting location in the Sacred Archives and finish it.
  • Treasure of the Seven Seas – The stubborn but colorful parrot does not want to return to the pirate captain, leaving players unable to finish the quest.
  • Treasure of the Seven Seas – Having too many side quests active at the same time causes the quest to break if not confirmed before leaving the level.
  • The Lost Warrior – The Lost Warrior on the bridge outside the main entrance to the Kuh Qaf respawns once more after his defeat and reloads the level.
