Over a thousand Pokemon exist, featuring a variety of designs ranging from wild to realistic.. Gen 1 Pokémon are remembered for iconic designs, such as Arbok, the fear-eyed cobra Pokémon. Shellder is a bivalve mollusk and is responsible for one of Pokedex’s strangest entries, while Slowpoke’s appearance is reminiscent of a salamander and a hippopotamus. Meanwhile, Rotom is a Gen 4 representative whose plasma body can transform into other Rotom types, or reside in electronics and transform into items like the Rotom Pokedex. The Pokemon franchise already has a rich variety of visuals, but one talented fan decided to share his thoughts on some of the monsters.
Reddit user PhantomLink2782 created an evolution for Arbok and pre-evolutions for Shielder, Slowpoke, and Rotom. Agan is a Poison/Dragon-type Pokémon that combines Arbok’s snake-like features with draconic visual elements, such as the horns and spikes that lead to the end of its tail. Schilder obtained the pre-evolutionary chlamyd, an aquatic species that is a pink mollusk with a playful appearance. Slowpoke has several evolutions, but for the first time, it gets the pre-evolution Slokov, a Water/Psyche-type Pokemon with a cute round-eared teddy bear appearance. Retuor is an Electric/Ghost-type Pokémon and the previous form of Rotom that retains a mischievous Pokémon-like appearance and has “arms” that resemble a Wi-Fi signal icon.
Following the fan art of Agan, Clamide, Slowcof, and Retuor, the OP created the Pokedex entries, stats, abilities, origin of each Pokemon’s name, and how to obtain them. To evolve Arbok into Agan, the Dragon Scale item needs to be used with a Pokemon at level 40. Chlamydia is obtained by growing the shield while capturing the essence of water. Slowcof spawns from breeding a Slowpoke while holding the Soothe Bell, an important item for Pokemon that evolve through friendship. Retuor’s evolution process is distinct and entails trading evolution while the Pokemon is in possession of the upgrade item.
While Gen 9 begins to wind down after the release of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet epilogue, the Pokémon community continues to produce creative art to show its appreciation for the franchise.
