Pokemon Fan Art Unleashes Giratina x Tina from Bob's BurgersPokemon Fan Art Unleashes Giratina x Tina from Bob's Burgers

A fan of Pokemon chooses to combine his artistic abilities to create “Gira Tina,” a horrifying hybrid of Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers and Giratina.

  • “Gira Tina,” a mash-up of the renowned Pokemon Giratina and Tina from Bob’s Burgers, was made by digital illustrator Steve Carcamo.
  • The hundreds of Pokemon fans who contributed to its viral success on social media were not blind to the joke fusion’s silliness, terror, and overall impressiveness.

A talented Pokemon fan has decided to use his impressive artistic skills to create a fusion of Giratina and Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers. Dubbed Gira Tina, the terrifying creation adds to the vast pool of examples illustrating the immense creativity of Pokémon.

Concepts that combine the designs of various creatures have long been among the most widespread types of fan art produced by GameFreak’s popular franchise. But even the awesome Pokemon fusions that can be found online are usually limited to designs that combine two or more Pocket Monsters rather than incorporating other characters.

Wanting to shake things up a bit, digital illustrator Steve Carcamo recently decided to fuse Garitina with Tina Belcher, the daughter of the titular character from Bob’s Burgers. The end result of his efforts is an absolutely monstrous creature consisting of Geritina’s body and Tina’s head. The latter’s facial expression is pure horror like it’s trying to wake up from a bad dream.

While many fans reacted to the design with the “thanks, I hate it” meme, many were clearly impressed with Carcamo’s fusion. Namely, the disturbing artwork made the front page of the biggest Pokemon subreddit on January 22nd, garnering hundreds of votes in the process. The fact that the entire concept was based on a play on the word “Gira Tina” apparently contributed to the design’s social media traction. One fan even asked the artist to continue this train of thought by creating Genesect, a combination of Tina’s brother Genesect and Gene Belcher.

Whether Carcamo ends up doing so remains to be seen, though the artist unabashedly concedes to the request. This isn’t the first time the talented fan has created a joke fusion like this, having previously authored a high-effort combination of Grimmer and Evie that’s as silly as it is impressive. His other unusual Pokémon fusions include one that combines Kingler and Magnizone, as well as a design that incorporates elements of Abra and Mecope. The latter, shared in July 2022, marked the artist’s return to drawing Pokémon after a long hiatus. “I haven’t drawn Pokemon in years, and now I can’t stop,” he wrote at the time.

Certainly, Carcamo’s innovative influence on pocket monsters is becoming more popular by the day. Gira Tina is therefore the third such concept to emerge online in recent weeks, arriving shortly after a strange Raticate-Magikarp combo and another impressive piece of Pokemon fan art fusing Corviknight and Sirfetch.
